Under CalAIM, the Department of Health Care Services plans to carve in Long Term Care (“LTC”) services, including services provided by skilled nursing facilities, subacute facilities, pediatric subacute facilities, and intermediate care facilities, for all Medi-Cal beneficiaries by January 1, 2023. This is a significant development as managed care plans will be compelled to contract with LTC providers to ensure that their enrollees have access to LTC services in order to meet network adequacy and certification requirements.
